Another Link in...

I made a profile in the Linkedin site and I thought that it was really interesting that someone came up with this conception of using our social networking professionally. There are a few flaws with the system like you cannot ask for an outside source for a reccomendation, but rather they have to be part of the system too.

Another LibraryThing...

I like this site. It is just the type of place I would spend all my time. It has everything a book lover needs from discussion groups to finding types of books based on tags. It allows you to group and edit your searches and modify as you please. All in all I was very impressed with the site. :-)

Another Delicious...

This to me seems a lot like the Google Reader or the RSS feeds. It's putting all of your favorite things in one place, and getting an email or updates about them; however it is more for fluff pieces than news like Digg. Librarians can use then to share their ideas and potentially new programs for their libraries.

Another Tag...

Tagging is a useful tool if you are not sure what you are looking for because you can type in a word and a database will come up with related items. I think it is very useful if you are intereest in something, and want some suggestions. It is in use in our library and it comes up with the most relevant searches. I think that the patrons greatly appreciate it and I know it has been useful to me.

Another IM...

I started IMing when I was about 12 or 13 to keep up with my friends from Connecticut. It was useful back then when cell phones were not as abundantly used, but I like cell phones better now because you can continue conversations from whenever and you are not glued to one place because you have to be connected to the internet and a computer. I cannot remember the last time I used an IM...

Another Picture Share...

The Alexandrian Library is an interesting sort of collection. Do the patrons sign a wavier to use the photos when they sign up for library cards or at each event do they sign a wavier? I like the set up of the Marathon County Public Library better than the Alexandrian's set up. I found the Lunar and Planetary Instuite boring and not useful. It did not draw you in.
